Fumaça (footballer, born 1976)

José Rodriguez Alves Antunes (born 15 July 1976), more commonly known as Fumaça, is a Brazilian former footballer who played as a midfielder in Brazil, England, Czech Republic and Germany.
==Career==

Born in Belém, Fumaça began his career with Catuense, but looking to further his career abroad, went on trial with a number of English clubs, including West Ham United, Birmingham City and Grimsby Town. He joined Second Division side Colchester United in 1999, making his debut in only the second ever TV pay-per-view game when Colchester hosted Manchester City. Colchester lost the game 1–0, but not before Fumaça was stretchered off injured after just 14 minutes following a collision with Andy Morrison.〔〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://coludata.co.uk/matchdetails.asp?mid=2893 )
Fumaça was never to play for Colchester again, instead being tempted by the lure of more money with Barnsley but failed to make an appearance. In the summer of 1999, he joined Crystal Palace in the hope of gaining regular football. He made three appearances before being taken onboard by Premier League Newcastle United just 20 days after signing for Palace.〔
With Newcastle, Fumaça made five league appearances during his time at St James' Park,〔 but returned to Brazil and Catuense in the summer of 2000. He later had spells in Brazil with America and Caxias before returning to Catuense for a third time. He left his home country once again in 2005 for Czech Republic, making ten appearances and scoring once for FK Drnovice. In 2006, he transferred to Türkiyemspor Berlin in Germany, scoring twice in 15 appearances.〔 A short stay with SC Paderborn 07 followed in the latter half of 2006 and then moved to his third German club with SV Wilhelmshaven for the second half of the 2006–07 season, scoring one goal in ten league games.〔 After a spell out of the game, Fumaça returned to Türkiyemspor for a final six month stint and seven appearances before calling time on his career.〔
